Iron Mountain Positions for Growth in Intellectual Property Management Services, Creates New Business Unit

Boston, MA - Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE:IRM) today announced the formation of a new business unit, Iron Mountain Intellectual Property Management, Inc. This was accomplished by uniting its DSI Technology Escrow Services business with Arcemus, the domain name records management company Iron Mountain acquired in May of 2004. This combination and re-branding is a reflection of the strength Iron Mountain has built in intellectual property management.

DSI Technology Escrow Services is well known as the leading provider of technology escrow services. These services ensure business continuity through access to software source code that is securely held in a vault and released to a customer should the software vendor cease to provide support. Escrow services are used during the technology licensing process to strengthen traditional methods of intellectual property protection such as trade secrets, patents, copyrights and trademarks while providing the needed assurance that customers require to protect their investments. DSI serves as the trusted and neutral third party in the delivery of escrow services, and counts three-fourths of the Fortune 500 companies as technology escrow customers. DSI founded the technology escrow industry in 1982 and was acquired by Iron Mountain Incorporated in 1997.

Arcemus specializes in domain name records management, helping businesses reduce the risk and cost of managing domain name portfolios and protecting their trademarks online. Arcemus was formed in 2002 and has attracted Global 2000 clients in industries from financial services to entertainment to pharmaceuticals to legal services.

The new business unit will benefit from Arcemus’ secure online service delivery capabilities that help clients efficiently acquire, manage, and enforce the use of domain names and trademarks online. Arcemus employs proprietary methodologies and industry best practices to assist clients in developing and automating the enforcement of records policies and procedures as part of an overall global trademark protection strategy.

The creation of the Iron Mountain Intellectual Property Management business unit extends the Iron Mountain brand and supports Iron Mountain’s core competency of protecting and preserving information to help businesses with their compliance and continuity needs.
