E-Records Management and Data Protection Technologies Now Manage 9 Petabytes of Digital Information for More than 1000 Corporate Clients

June 13, 2005

Boston, MA - Iron Mountain Incorporated (NYSE:IRM), the world’s trusted partner for records management and data protection services, today announced the formation of its Digital business unit upon completing the integration of recently acquired Connected Corporation (See press release dated October 12, 2004). This announcement comes at a time when the Company is experiencing significant demand for its technology solutions for archiving and protecting corporate information.

Former Connected Chief Operating Officer John Clancy was appointed executive vice president to spearhead Iron Mountain’s Digital business unit. “This is an exciting time for us, having moved beyond market acceptance and into market leadership for our technology solutions and services,” said Clancy. “With a dedicated focus, Iron Mountain’s Digital business is organized to quickly respond to customer needs in the rapidly growing data protection and archiving market. Complementing this agility is the foundation of the world’s trusted partner for records management and data protection, affording us the ability to take a long-term view and make the right investments for our customers and for the business.”

Iron Mountain’s Digital business encompasses a comprehensive data protection and e-records management suite: The Company’s Electronic Vaulting solutions are award-winning software and managed online data backup and recovery services for protecting at-risk, distributed data stored on PCs and remote servers; they include market-leading Connected DataProtector/PC™ and Server Electronic Vaulting.

The e-records management solutions include Digital Archives, an outsourced electronic records management service for secure, legally compliant and cost-effective archiving of electronic records such as e-mail, instant messages and images. Several market trends continue to drive the Company’s global records management and data protection businesses across the physical and digital worlds, including heightened regulatory compliance requirements, the need for real-time litigation response, the requirement to contain storage costs, and the ever-present need for disaster recovery readiness. Reflective of the Company’s long-term strategy to support customer needs through geographical and portfolio expansion, Iron Mountain has been steadily investing in its digital service offerings since 2001. With the completed Connected integration, Iron Mountain has now reached a significant milestone in helping customers manage and protect all of their information – both physical and digital – regardless of format or location.
